Week 5 Visionary Plays

Quarterbacks

Ben Roethlisberger — Big Ben at Heinz Field against a team without its two top defensive players? Yes, please!!! Ben should throw for close to 400 yards in this one.

Matt Ryan — This game will be a shootout so don’t be afraid to start Ryan who has been on fire since Week 1.

Jared Goff — I still can’t get over how good Goff looked against the Vikings. He threw three TD passes IN STRIDE to his receivers. Without Earl Thomas, Seattle’s defense will be a complete mess. Start Goff with confidence.

Russell Wilson — Wilson has been so bad the last couple of weeks that I know this seems like a crazy pick, but Vegas has this game as one of the higher totals of the week. Take a shot on Wilson if you need a high ceiling play.

Matthew Stafford — Stafford has been unstoppable against the Packers recently, and I think he keeps up the good play this week. His receivers (Tate, Jones, and Golladay) completely outclass the Packers secondary and the emergence of Kerryon Johnson will help with play-action passes.

Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey — Without Olsen on the field, there is no better sure thing in PPR formats that McCaffrey.

Saquon Barkley — I have a feeling that this could be a huge Barkley week. The Panthers pass rushers tend to be a bit over-aggressive when they pursue, and if Barkley can break a tackle or two, he might be able to rip off a huge play.

Melvin Gordon — Gordon should have 100+ rushing yards, and at least one TD against the soft Raiders run defense.

David Johnson — Johnson looked a whole lot better with Rosen at QB, and I think that he will continue his good play against a 49ers defense that lacks playmakers.

Derrick Henry — If Henry doesn’t score against the Bills you can officially cut him.

T.J. Yeldon — I wonder that this spot seems almost too good, but, Yeldon should get about 15-20 touches in a game that should be much higher scoring than people anticipate.

Wide Receivers

Antonio Brown — This is the game that Brown goes off for 150 yards and two TDs — lock him in Visionary Style!

Tyler Boyd — Dolphins CB Xavien Howard will be draped on A.J. Green leaving Boyd to get about 10-14 targets this week. Is it just me or is Boyd starting to remind you of a younger Jarvis Landry?

Cooper Kupp — Interestingly enough, he seems to be Goff’s favorite weapon in the red zone. He is open on virtually every pattern, and I don’t see how the Seahawks can cover him.

Odell Beckham — I have a visionary feeling that this is the game that Beckham breaks out. The Panthers CBs are young and immature, and I think OBJ can get by them to make a big play.

Doug Baldwin — Call this a hunch, but I think that in a wide-open game, Wilson is going to need to go to his number one target to keep the Seahawks close. Baldwin may not be 100% healthy, but his 85% is better than most people at full health.

Tight Ends

Travis Kelce — I know it’s not counter-intuitive to think that Kelce will have a big game, but if Watkins doesn’t play, there’s no way that Kelce doesn’t get 10-12 targets.

Austin Hooper — The Steelers are the worst team in the NFL against opposing tight ends, so you might want to make sure Hooper is in your lineup in what should be an 80-point total.

Zach Ertz — It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this play out, but I have a feeling people might be off him (especially in DFS) because of the tough matchup against the Vikings. I am not sure that any matchup is too tough for Ertz. He is Wentz’s go-to guy, and if the Eagles are playing from behind, he could rack up big Fantasy points.
